This July newsletter has some up and coming dates for your diary and we hope to see you at something. Exciting news – Waitrose East Croydon has selected us for support for our Carers choir so please venture in and give us your green token support! Thank you 🙂
June saw us closing the Group Singing at Studio Upstairs until the Autumn. Thank you to all who have joined us – dropping in or regularly! So lovely to sing with you all in that beautiful space and thanks to all the team there. The rest of June was a time of planning for Creative Croydon as we focused on progressing our externally funded work with homeless people and those with enduring mental health needs. We hope you have had a restful time in the wonderful sunshine. Meanwhile there are some fun singing outings for you below!
10th July Anthem for Peace! Creative Croydon collaborator Katie Rose has a new project and would love you to donate £2 to support her work for Croydon. If you can do it by 10th July it will also help show a funder that widespread support is available. Donations also welcome after that of course!https://www.spacehive.com/anthem-for-peace

16th & 25th July Human Kind Project
Maya Angelou said ‘We are more alike than we are unalike’ in her poem Human Family. This coming week and the next will offer a chance to experience our shared humanity across our diversities through song. Join me in Croydon on 16th July for a local encounter with the Rainbows across Borders chorus & the German Choir of London, and in North London on Tues 25th in the evening, for a massed choir event. On the 16th we will learn backing vocals for a new tune that is very easy. This one off singing throng will be a temporary pop up choir called Cronx Chorus! Should be interesting, with guest leader Michael Williams. If you are earning please contribute £5-10 towards the fares of refugees and asylum seekers which helps them to attend the event. [All takings go to Rainbows across Borders members for their travel and I will pay the rest!] Please text me urgently if interested on 07981 298 541. Thank you and hope to welcome some of you to this interesting project!
