Currently we are running singing groups through workshops and via adult education, rather than through a regular weekly Croydon Community Choir Group.

Croydon Clocktower CALAT courses 

June 20^th 2023 Songs of Africa and summer – 4 Tues eve singing sessions for £25 if you can join our merry band of 13 in Thornton Heath – CALAT. Sign up by 4 pm this Tues online or by popping into the Calat office in Central Croydon Clocktower.

18^th April 2023 deadline- Community singing classes with Adult Ed
April 25^th 2023 but CALAT need you to sign up by 18^th please to be sure of it running as we need numbers! You can still join later but it may help it run to book a week before. Weekly sessions are back, Tues eves at Strand House from April 25^th in Thornton heath, close to buses. Please sign up at the new CR7 Bargain community price of £25.

Singing less known Christmas songs 6^th Dec 7-9 2022 £10 +
Singing the season Jan 2023 10 Jan 2023 – 7^th Feb Time: Tues 19:15 – 20.45 (Cost £62.25/46.69 concession)  20 places available for each
These can both be found and signed up for through the CALAT website. Go to this page, https://www.calat.ac.uk/  then click the big enrolment button then search for Singing and they should both show up. Or just walk into the Central Clocktower Calat reception and ask them to sign you up, if it’s easier.

During the pandemic we moved our Singing Tree Classes online following guidance from the Natural Voice Network. The Singing Tree group was facilitated by Steve Babe. The sessions were informal focussing on singing for well being. they start with a few physical and vocal warm-ups before  moving on to singing. The songs are mostly simple traditional songs from around the world, including rounds. Some of these may already be familiar, but others will be taught. There was also be a musical game or two. You can also watch our introductory video to get a sense of the group.

Everything will be taught be ear – no need to read sheet music – no auditions – no solos – no previous musical experience necessary – shy and secret singers welcome.
