Sing joyful summer harmony! July 9th with Delia Rosenboom

Join us July 9th 12.30 – 3.30 to welcome back harmony singing leader Delia Rosenboom At LSBU Electric House Wellesley Road, Croydon (town centre) and it’s 5 mins from East Croydon station. The location is here
 Fully accessible and a chance to see some beautiful refurbished Electric House with some original Art deco features.  12.30 – 3.30 (tea break) short songs, global, simple, lovely easy harmony, all singer levels welcome 
Free to over 55s. £10 or £5 concessions for under 55s, pay on the door. Bursaries also available. Well behaved kids also welcome if childcare would prevent you attending otherwise (parents remain responsible at all times). To book a place please email and say July 9th workshop in the subject header please. Limited to 30 places so please don’t delay. Due to security in the building all attendees must pre-book and late comers will not be easily admitted so please try to be on time, or you may need to wait.

Turf projects arts project celebrating International Women’s Day 9-12th March 2022
We have a small free collaborative arts residency at Turf in the Whitgift centre, for women’s month with some free arts and creativity session. You are welcome to come visit and see what we have all been up to on Sat 1-3.15pm to view the display and work created during the project.

Music for self soothing 1 Feb 2022 Tues 10.30 – 11.30am 4 weekly sessions
FREE Croydon area – Indoors at the BME Forum office in the Whitgift centre. Includes voicework/singing and thinking about music playlists. All welcome from diverse backgrounds.
If under 50 let me know you would like to come as I can ask for this (their target group is more 50+ but they may have space).  Fully accessible with lift. in March we will take this outside for Singing and Strolling.

Menopause awareness month – Creative artist in residence 16th – 21st October 2021
We have arranged a small residence at Croydon Art Space and we thank TURF for hosting us as we explore the topic of the menopause transition creatively. This is for all genders and there is a chance to take part in several creative experimental sessions plus come and view the art works created on the final afternoon. 
Sat 16th Oct 11.30 – 12.30 Creative awareness raising and chat
1 hr with Catherine followed by 12.10 – 1.30 optional extra hour using art materials to express our experiences. Option to display on the exhibition wall (you can collect it Thursday afternoon).
Weds 20th Oct 1-2 pm Settle & Soothe the body
Lunchtime creative relaxation session with Anne
Thursday 21st Oct 11am- 2pm Drop-in session – come & go as you please.
Come and view the art works and chat some more about menopause.
Plus: Option to have your picture taken to add to our diverse images for activism/social media/helping other women.
Thursday 2-3 pm Stretch and restore Menopause and exercise with Catherine and Ayana
 All sessions at TURF public space on the first floor, Croydon Arts Space,
just along from Nat West entrance in the Whitgift Centre – lower floor entrance

International Day of Peace Tuesday September 21st 2021 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm Croydon Unitarians Church

Come and sing nature based songs for activism & self-soothing with Catherine Pestano and create Peace thoughts with Anne Crump. All welcome. No experience needed. World Voice Day 6 pm April 16th 2021

On this World voice Day April 16th join Catherine at 6 pm for a short facebook live event to learn her blessing song based on the well known phrase ‘May you walk gently on the earth’ and to think about freeing your own voice through small steps into songwriting. FREE.

Sing for Earth Day events April 15th and April 27th 2021

Please join us at one of these events which focus on the global eco issues and use movement, symbolic planting and song to raise our awareness of how to restore the earth and each other through song and micro-activism. All proceeds to Eco organisations including Tree Sisters. For details please see here:

February 2021: Snowdrop – Into the Green Event
Creative Croydon has partnered with the Friends of White Horse Park in a celebration of renewal. At the end of January , beginning of February 2021 we are starting to plant a drift of snowdrops in the community garden. Due to current restrictions people will be planting solo in the designated ‘snowdrop drift area’. The drift area is in the right hand bed as you enter the community garden. Any snowdrops donations would be welcome – drop us an email. We hope to hold a mini Snowdrop Festival in 2022. ,

Arts in the Park : All Welcome to join our Community Arts Events.

Creative Croydon has worked with the local community in Croydon providing outdoor workshops and events. .  Activities have included a Peace Picnic, Wassails and workshops connecting with nature through poetry, mindfulness and the visual arts.

Creative Cafes: Bringing people together through creativity.

This is an initiative we have developed and delivered in a variety of community and mental health settings. The Creative Café is a relaxed space offering creative arts activities to help enhance emotional well being. People are can come along and try our different activities such as collage, singing, creative writing and art, as well as take time to, sit, chat and connect with others.

Creative Cafe
Plus please check future newsletters for our next three Creative Croydon Cafes with Anne, Remi and Catherine. These include singing, story telling, creative visual arts, relaxation and mindfulness meditation. These will be held at community arts & mental health related settings, dates yet to be confirmed. Thank you to South London and Maudsley Trust for part funding these through their Let’s Smile  programme. 18th Feb – Women only session at AYDA for their relaunch!
